At the Meeting on the 16th June 2008 the Agenda was as followed: Procession, Stalls, Arena Layout and Any other Business.

Our Next meeting will be held at Crofton Community Centre, 21st July 2008, 7:30pm

Notes from Carnival Meeting held on 2nd June 2008.

 

Entertainment: Arena events and timings have been confirmed and published in the Carnival Programme. Samantha’s School of Dance have been asked if Street People Dance Troup do not turn up Samantha can fill in at 16:00.

 

Procession: Alex (Legal Officer) from WMDC legal department is in charge of the application for a Section 21 Town Police Clouse.

Groups Taking Park: Crofton Starlightning Majorettes, Samantha’s School of Dance, Crofton Tots, Crofton Primary School, Crofton Silver Band.

 

Stalls: Drop in Session where held on Thursday 22nd May 2008 and was very poorly attended and will not be held again next year.

It was discussed again from previous meetings to hold a best stall competition purely for Stall Layout and Preparation, the committee will informer Stall Holders about the completion on the morning of the Carnival so the completion is based on Set Up the prize will be a free stall at next year’s Carnival.

Programme: Programmes have been printed and are now on sale at Crofton Library, Crofton Centre, New Crofton Post Office, Ashdeen Shop and Wakefield Tourist Information Centre for 50p.

A member of the public complained but the Carnival Programmes being too over crowded in the Centre, A reply from the Carnival Secretary: ‘The Carnival Programmes have had to be cut down from 8 pages to 1 due to lack of Committee Members but we have printed the Programme in full colour.

  

Any other Business: VOX Communities Together next meeting will be held at Sharlston Sports and Social Club at 7:00pm.

Refreshments for Guest of Honour will be provided by Rose Salt some outside catering maybe needed.

The Carnival Committee have received a donation of 4 plastic outside chairs by Rose Salt.

An outreach event will be held at the WMDC Green Living Day on Sunday 15th June at Anglers Country Park, 100 Crofton Carnival Pens have been purchased for Outreach events which will be organised by Chris Neale.
